However, you should definitely play this game without cheats - it's really rough at first, but also quite rewarding. I swear by the thing - it'll allow you to go through entire portions of dungeons unscathed, and if you take the UESP's maps into account you can do the main quest without having to see much action if that's what you're hoping for. I'm not sure why you need to use cheats, but I heartily suggest that you buy/make a Passwall spell once you've found a Mages' Guild.
The console functions you're referring to are for Morrowind and Oblivion. Daggerfall was the first game in the series to have them.
